A new initiative has launched to identify the Top Workplaces in Hampshire. Aimed at organisations of all sizes from across the county, Top Workplaces in Hampshire 2020 has been created to give recognition to the best organisations to work for in Hampshire – to celebrate their success and inspire other organisations to create workplaces where employees are valued and motivated to succeed.

Top Workplaces in Hampshire will consist of a carefully selected list (not in a ranked order) of employers who can demonstrate that they value their employees and have created a positive and inclusive work environment. It will be published in April 2020, with one organisation from the list selected by the judges as the ultimate Top Workplace in Hampshire 2020. There will also be three separate awards for Wellbeing Champion, Diversity Champion and Charity Champion.

The initiative has been spearheaded by lawyer, Joanna Atkinson, Founder and Managing Director of JMA HR and Legal, a Bordon-based HR, employment law and immigration practice. Joanna will head up a judging panel consisting of experts in HR, recruitment, occupational health and employee wellbeing. The judges, in addition to Joanna Atkinson are:

  • Sue Hayes, HR Consultant and Vice Chair of CIPD Wessex
  • Daniel Jordan, Branch Director of multi-award winning Mploy Staffing Solutions in Andover – a firm which has been listed in the 2019 Sunday Times Top 100 Best Small Companies to Work For and has also been awarded Platinum accreditation from Investors in People
  • Linda Lyle, a specialist practitioner in occupational health and Founder & Managing Director of Occupational Health Consultancy Ltd in Southampton.

Joanna Atkinson comments, “We have set up a very simple online entry process to encourage as many relevant organisations in the county to enter and share their achievements in areas such as employee engagement, wellbeing, diversity, philanthropy and career development opportunities. There will then be a meeting with the judges for those who are shortlisted, with the final list being unveiled at an awards reception on 30 April 2020.”

“We believe that being selected for the Top Workplaces in Hampshire 2020 list will provide organisations with the opportunity to showcase their strengths as an employer –it’s an accolade that will not only motivate their existing employees but will also help them to attract the very best candidates when recruiting.”

Top Workplaces in Hampshire 2020 is free to enter. All organisations selected for inclusion on the list will receive a Top Workplaces in Hampshire logo, free of charge, which they can use in all forms of marketing. They will also all be invited to the awards reception.

Deadline for entries is 21 February 2020. The awards reception will be on 30 April 2020 at the BASE Bordon Innovation Centre. For further details, please visit www.twih.co.uk
